There is a good reason to leave some room in this week’s calendar. The 30th annual Trailing of the Sheep Festival runs October 7–11, 2026, celebrating the history and cultures of sheepherding in Idaho and the West. [1]

The organizer’s website brings together the schedule, its 2026 program and ticket links. Use those as your starting point: individual events have their own locations, times and admission arrangements. A festival date alone is not a reservation. [1]

The OM perspective

Why it matters here.

For visitors, choose one event and build a day around it. For those who live here, it is a reason to make space for a local tradition. Check the program close to departure, especially for anything that requires advance booking.
