Sun Valley Museum of Art opens Lucy Raven: Level Distance and Jim Mangan: The Crick on Friday, October 30, 2026. The free public opening celebration runs from 6–7:30 p.m. at the museum, 191 Fifth Street East in Ketchum, with refreshments served. [1]
The exhibitions approach the American West from different perspectives. Raven’s work examines how physical forces and infrastructure reshape landscapes. Mangan’s photographs follow a group of young men in the Short Creek community on the Utah-Arizona border, exploring their bonds with one another and the surrounding landscape. [2]
The museum lists a separate members’ preview at 5 p.m.; the public celebration begins at 6. For anyone planning a later visit, museum admission is free, and Saturday hours are 11 a.m.–4 p.m. Check the museum’s calendar for individual talks and programs, whose registration requirements can differ. Why it matters here.
An exhibition opening is a simple way to make an evening in town about more than dinner. If Friday is already full, consider a Saturday museum stop and leave time to explore both artists’ work.
