Families planning a child’s first winter on skis or a snowboard can now apply for Rota-Rippers at Rotarun. The community-supported, tuition-free program serves children ages 5–11, from kindergarten through fifth grade. Children must be five by January 1, 2027. [2]

Two sessions are offered: January 11–February 1 and February 8–March 1, 2027. Both meet Mondays and Tuesdays from 3–5 p.m. Each session has room for 50 participants, and children may take part in one session, not both. [1] [2]

Applications are available in English and Spanish through Rotarun’s website. The deadline is November 16, with applicants to be notified by November 23. Submitting an application is not confirmation of a place; families should watch for the program’s response. [1] [2] [3]

The OM perspective

Why it matters here.

The after-school calendar matters as much as the snow. Before applying, compare the two sessions with school pickup and family commitments. Use the organizer’s application for current requirements and ask Rotarun directly about any practical details your family needs clarified.
